Back up to the hospital by 8.00am this morning. Drew's blood count is still too low, but we are going to start treatment anyway. He has an hour of fluids before they administer the chemotherapy (cyclophosamide) which takes an hour to flow through and then four hours of fluids after this. Another drug is administered with the fluid, which is all to protect his bladder from the cyclophosamide (cyclone we have called it). The nurses also 'insert' a little plastic tube into his leg, this will be for his injection of cytarabine (carribean) which I get to do at home. We have a practice run at the hospital and then the real thing on Drew, as it is his first time he isn't very happy about it, but all goes well - thank goodness. Left hospital at 5.30pm - very long day.
