Day 36 - today is a big day for Drew. He is having a lumbar puncture and a bone marrow aspirant - the results of these will tell us if Drew is in remission, he was also due to start a new phase of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, Drew's blood count was not sufficient to start the new phase, which is normal, and we will go back on Wednesday to see if his count has climbed and get the results of his lumbar puncture and bone marrow. Drew was whisked up to the operating theatre this morning at about 9.00am - they were actually waiting for us - which was a pleasant surprise, it meant Drew could eat earlier. However, today was the first day Drew woke up grumpy from the anaesthetic - but food did the trick once he was back in his room.
