Treatment Day 57 - Off to hospital early today for a lumbar puncture. Not having breakfast doesn't bother Drew at all now. Drew was up to theatre by 9.50am and finished 20 minutes later. Now that he is off the steroids he doesn't wake up euphoric any more and is actually quite grumpy, today was the first time after an anaesthetic that he felt nauseous. Drew needed a blood transfusion as his platelets are quite low, so as the day went on he started to feel better and was back to himself by the afternoon. All going well we won't be back to hospital to next Tuesday, which will be the last day of treatment in this block.
